No...that's not the word I was looking for, ARTIFICIAL ...there you go.
How can you design elaborate flower stories with blooms that are out of season?
Silks and other artificials, that's how!
This also helps with sensitive sniffers. I have family members who are fragrance intolerant. They shy away from events, where there would most likely be an abundance of flowers or heavy scents just because of their allergies. If you have that same issue, or have guests who suffer from allergies, consider artificial flowers or even just LED candles and other decor
elements to compliment your design.

Too Much?

Ehm....princess?
While planning a Garden Party for Princesses, this very special request from my 7 year old sweetness, I asked "where do I draw the line"? I wanted her to have every little detail just so but didn't have the time or energy to devote to one more event that week. How I did it and saved my sanity...
  1. Chose a place really close to home 
  2. Made sure this place already had tables and chairs
  3. Ordered trays of food from the local BBQ joint (and had someone pick it up)
  4. Used silk peonies and other pretties for the centerpieces instead of natural ones which require more care and time limits, not to mention wasn't in season
  5. Set one special table for the Princess and her guests of honor and the rest were simple but coordinating
  6. Made the mother of all Pinatas with all the girly goodies and glitter they could want and more
  7. Supplied activities for the rest of the guests, like over sized bowling and a white chocolate fountain
  8. Produced a photo booth with all the fluff and fun for silly faces
  9. Lastly, I had help from the most wonderful friends and family in the world

    Thankfully I was able to join in the fun and smiled the whole day.
